Likewise let the aged women be reverent in behavior, not slanderous, neither enslaved to a lot of wine,
teachers of what is good; that they may recall the young women to their senses to love their husbands,
to love their children, to be sound in mind, chaste, workers at home, good,
subjecting themselves to their own husbands, so that the word of God
may not be spoken of abusively. – Titus 2:3-5
The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to honor God, our husband, families, church, and our community, as intercessors and role models and assist the needs of the overall congregation. Our vision is to develop spiritually by becoming grounded in the fundamentals of the word of God, to proclaim the truth and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the highest priority being building up God’s people. Some of our duties include:
- Participating in a prayer chain, praying for the needs and requests of the church family.
- Notifying the chairman of the Deaconess Board about births, illnesses or deaths within the church family.
- Assist the senior pastor in benevolent work within the congregation and minister to the homebound, the sick, hospitalized or bereaved.
- Regularly visit, call and keep in touch with the church members who need extra tender loving care
